In partner with Teladoc, Nippon Life Benefits offers a telehealth service to our members who enroll medical coverage. This service provides you the access to the national network of U.S. board-certified, state-licensed physicians for non-emergency medical issues via phone call or online video consultations to receive medical advice, diagnoses and basic prescription medications from wherever you happen to be.
When you feel unwell, simply log in to your account at www.teladoc.com and request a visit with a doctor with a method you like - either via phone call or video call. Talk to the doctor during the visit. If medically necessary, a prescription will be sent to the pharmacy of your choice, so that you can receive the treatment you need in a timely, expedient manner. You don’t need to submit any claim forms for the visit. It’s that easy.

- Who is eligible for Teladoc service?
All members who have requested medical coverage from Nippon Life Benefits, and eligibility has been received by Teladoc. Registration at www.teladoc.com is required to initiate eligibility with Teladoc. All dependents have access to the service but the dependents who are age over 18 should set up an account at www.teladoc.com. You can contact Nippon Life Benefits’ customer service to confirm your eligibility.
- How much does it cost?
The cost of a Teladoc visit varies depending on your plan design. For PPO plan members, there is no cost, and for HDHP members, $55 per standard visit will be charged.
- Should I submit the claim form?
No. Your claim information will be sent directly from the physician to Nippon Life Benefits so you don’t need to submit the claim form.
- Can I call Teladoc outside of the U.S.?
No. Teladoc visits are not available outside of the United States.
